Electrical Design Engineer - AutoCAD

Seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to create electrical systems and control panels for custom-built industrial equipment at an established manufacturer of integrated mechanical and electrical systems. Fully on-site.

Responsibilities

• Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and detailed drawings in AutoCAD
• Design control systems for industrial equipment with motors, pumps and VFDs
• Choose components such as motor starters, relays, breakers, sensors and control devices
• Build bills of materials, technical documents and manufacturing drawings
• Work with mechanical engineers, production staff and technicians so equipment comes together correctly
• Check designs for function, safety and electrical code compliance
• Help with troubleshooting, testing and design changes on the shop floor
• Handle several custom projects at once while hitting quality and delivery goals

Requirements

• Electrical design experience, ideally with industrial machinery or control panels
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Able to create and read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, power distribution and panel components
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, EET or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered
• Bonus: NEC and UL 508A familiarity, PLC-based controls experience
• Detail-oriented problem solver and clear communicator
