Step into impactful industrial control panel design with a Houston-based team serving demanding oil and gas, industrial, municipal, and commercial applications. In this Electrical Designer role, you’ll help create accurate electrical drawings and enclosure layouts that support construction, manufacturing, and installation.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Electrical Designer position include:
- 2–3 years of experience originating electrical drawings, including physical control panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
- 2–3 years of experience using AutoCAD Electrical (or equivalent electrical design software).
- Formal training in electrical drafting, electrical design, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with UL 508A, UL 698A, and NNNY standards, plus knowledge of electrical schematics and industry drafting standards.
- Knowledge of power systems, motor controls, PLC layouts, and instrumentation diagrams, with ability to perform basic electrical calculations.
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, 2D enclosure layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with customers, production, project managers, and other disciplines; review vendor drawings and incorporate approved equipment data.
- Manage revisions, maintain drawing standards/document control and revision logs, and support continuous improvement to enhance shop efficiency.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Company pays 50% of employee-only health insurance premiums; 15 days of accrued PTO annually; approximately 8–10 paid holidays annually; 401(k) with 100% employer match on the first 3% of compensation deferred, plus 50% match on deferrals between 3% and 5% (maximum employer match of 4% of compensation).
