We partner with industry-leading organizations to deliver innovative engineering solutions for complex, mission-critical programs.

We are seeking a Digital Design Engineer II to join a collaborative engineering team developing next-generation digital electronic systems for advanced aerospace and defense applications.

Position Overview

As a Digital Design Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, analysis, simulation, testing, and integration of sophisticated digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).

This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, embedded processors, and multiprocessor architectures. Your work will support advanced guidance, video processing, and digital signal processing systems.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrical engineer with experience in digital circuit design who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and collaborating across engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, analyze, and test digital electronic circuits, modules, and circuit card assemblies.

  • Support digital hardware designs incorporating processors, FPGAs, memory devices, and high-speed communication interfaces.

  • Participate in schematic development, circuit analysis, simulation, and hardware verification.

  • Support the integration of digital interfaces, including PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.

  • Perform laboratory testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and validation of electronic hardware.

  • Collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to develop integrated solutions.

  • Support hardware development throughout the engineering lifecycle, from initial design through integration and production.

  • Participate in technical design reviews, documentation, and engineering problem-solving activities.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving digital electronics design and development processes.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

  • Experience designing, analyzing, or testing digital electronic circuits and hardware.

  • Familiarity with circuit card assembly design and development.

  • Understanding of digital hardware architectures involving processors, FPGAs, and memory devices.

  • Knowledge of digital communication interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, or UART.

  • Experience with electronic design, simulation, or laboratory testing tools.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

  • Willingness and ability to work onsite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing or supporting complex, multilayer circuit card assemblies.

  • Familiarity with high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and timing considerations.

  • Experience with schematic capture and electronic design automation (EDA) tools.

  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.

  • Exposure to FPGA-based hardware, embedded systems, or multiprocessor architectures.

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, avionics, or other high-reliability electronic systems.

  • Familiarity with hardware verification, integration, and production support activities.
