Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Electrical Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. This position focuses on the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, industrial automation, and advanced control technologies used in complex machinery and industrial applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, PLC programming, motor controls, and automation systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative engineering projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and develop practical solutions to challenging technical problems.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working both in the office and in the field, takes initiative, and thrives in an environment where problem-solving, creativity, and continuous improvement are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and integrate electrical control systems for industrial machinery, automation equipment, power distribution, lighting, and facility applications.

  • Develop control solutions for electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems.

  • Work on both system-level and component-level electrical engineering projects.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical, automation, and control system issues involving heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and automated systems.

  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, technicians, and field personnel to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

  • Design and improve control systems involving PLCs, sensors, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other automation components.

  • Evaluate and select sensors, electrical components, and control equipment based on system performance, reliability, and safety requirements.

  • Support electrical equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and retrofits.

  • Inspect electrical installations to verify compliance with engineering drawings, design specifications, and applicable standards.

  • Assist with developing technical specifications, selecting equipment, and coordinating procurement of electrical components.

  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, efficiency, safety, and overall performance.

  • Provide hands-on technical support during equipment assembly, testing, commissioning, and field operations.

  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and implement effective engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in electrical engineering, controls engineering, industrial automation, or a related field.

  • Experience designing, developing, or integrating electrical control and automation systems.

  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial control systems.

  • Experience working with motor controls and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

  • Understanding of sensor selection, control system functionality, and redundancy requirements.

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, or heavy machinery.

  • Familiarity with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

  • Experience integrating electrical systems with mechanical equipment and software-based controls.

  • Knowledge of industrial sensors, instrumentation, and feedback control systems.

  • Familiarity with electrical power distribution and industrial control panels.

  • Experience with electrical equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.

  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and industry best practices.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.

  • Hands-on experience working with engineers, electricians, technicians, and skilled trades personnel.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a resourceful, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys tackling technical challenges and developing innovative solutions.

We value candidates who demonstrate:

  • A hands-on approach to engineering and troubleshooting.

  • Strong analytical thinking and technical problem-solving abilities.

  • Willingness to work directly with equipment and field teams.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing project priorities.

  • Initiative and ownership when identifying and resolving engineering challenges.

  • A strong interest in automation, electrical systems, and advanced industrial technology.

Compensation & Benefits

This position offers a competitive compensation package that includes a strong base salary, equity opportunities, and comprehensive benefits.

  • Base Salary: Starting at $100,000 annually, with compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and technical expertise.

  • Equity Compensation: Initial Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant valued at $200,000, vesting in equal annual increments over four years (25% annually), subject to applicable grant terms. Equity compensation is separate from base salary, and its actual value may fluctuate.

  • Relocation & Housing Assistance: Available for eligible candidates. Specific amounts, eligibility, and terms will be discussed during the hiring process.

  • Health Benefits: Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage.

  • Retirement Benefits: 401(k) retirement savings plan.
