Established multi-disciplined consulting firm is looking to add a talented Senior Project Electrical Engineer to their Des Moines, Iowa team!
Responsibilities:
Build/maintain relationships with municipalclients, architects, contractors, and internal teams
Technical lead on electrical systems designs
Participate in client meetings
Ensure code compliance
Coordinate with utility providers to ensure seamlessproject delivery
Mentor/train junior staff
Lead electrical system design from planning throughconstruction documentation/administration
Design building systems including powerdistribution, interior/exterior and emergency lighting with controls, fire alarmsystems, low-voltage infrastructure, and backup and standby power systems
Perform engineering calculations, lighting/photometricmodeling, load analysis, and equipment sizing
Prepare detailed drawings/specifications
Stamp/certify engineering documents
Provide project & quality oversightincluding internal quality reviews and QA/QC process support
Assist with preparing cost estimates, scopes ofwork, and technical details for proposals/RFQs
Assist with submittal reviews, responding to RFIs,and performing site observations
Assist with business development initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering (electrical focus)
5+ years of relevant experience designing electrical systems for buildings
4+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
Experience in K-12 schools and/or municipal building design preferred
ProfessionalEngineering (PE) license
Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licensure as needed
LEEDAP, Lighting Certified (LC), or other relevant certifications preferred
Extensive knowledge of NEC, IBC, IECC, and local electrical code requirements.
Expertise in designing systems tailored to educational and public-sector building types
Proficient in Revit and electrical modeling tools such as SKM, AGi32, or Visual preferred
Familiarity with using generator manufacturer sizing software
Salary iscommensurate with experience.
