Position: Electrical Engineer
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer specializing in high-voltage systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of high-voltage electrical systems in commercial plant projects. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering, a strong understanding of high-voltage systems, and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Analysis:
Lead the design and analysis of high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Develop detailed electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and system layouts.
Conduct power system analysis and simulations to optimize performance and reliability.
Project Management and Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to develop project timelines and ensure all electrical designs align with project requirements.
Oversee the implementation of electrical systems, ensuring timely and on-budget project execution.
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality standards and safety protocols are met.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Provide technical oversight on electrical installation, testing, and commissioning to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
Review and approve permits, inspections, and other regulatory documentation.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide troubleshooting expertise for electrical system issues during construction, installation, and post-project maintenance.
Offer ongoing technical support and maintenance guidance for high-voltage electrical systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed project documentation, including design notes, change orders, test results, and project progress reports.
Prepare technical reports for internal teams and clients, presenting solutions, challenges, and progress.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
P.E. License (Professional Engineer License) in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in High Voltage Systems.
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, specifically with high-voltage systems.
Technical Skills:
Extensive knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and their applications in commercial plant construction.
Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations, including NEC (National Electrical Code), IEEE, and NFPA.
Leadership and Communication Skills:
Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication skills to clearly present technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under tight deadlines.
Certifications and Licenses:
P.E. License (Professional Engineer) in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in high-voltage systems.
OSHA or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
