POSITION OVERVIEW

As an Electrical Engineer your roles and responsibilities will include:
  • Design, analyze, integrate, and evaluate electrical systems for military ground vehicle applications.
  • Design and support electrical components including FPGA, PCB, harnesses, enclosures, controllers, sensors, motor/generators, inverters, and effectors.
  • Support development of hybrid power packs by designing, testing, and integrating batteries, inverters, electric motors, and related electrical components.
  • Develop controller architecture design plans and apply powertrain control engineering techniques.
  • Perform circuit design considering stability, bandwidth, noise, parasitic effects, impedance, high-frequency behavior, filtering, and EMI compatibility.
  • Develop and release detailed design specifications, CAD models, schematics, and drawings for qualification and production.
  • Create and execute design verification test plans and oversee qualification activities including HIL/SIL, bench, dynamometer, and vehicle-level testing.
  • Participate in root cause and failure analysis investigations involving electronic and electromechanical systems.
  • Analyze electrical and software requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Prepare electrical design reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing engineering data and trends.
  • Support investigations involving electronic components, firmware, and software specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain existing product designs and provide technical data, production, and supply chain support.
  • Collaborate with program management, project engineering, test engineering, analysts, designers, mechanical engineering, customers, and suppliers.
  • Manage multiple engineering tasks, track metrics, report status, and complete assignments within established schedules and budgets.
  • Support engineering activities within a manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Electrical Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Electrical Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations including power analysis, wire gauge and trace sizing, and SPICE analysis.
  • General knowledge of electrical systems, circuit board design, harnesses, and electrical components up to 1000V.
  • Knowledge of MIL standards, IEEE documentation, SAE specifications, and IPC standards.
  • Experience designing rigid and flex printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Ability to create and read schematics, assembly drawings, and wire harness prints.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout for multilayer boards using Altium.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including failure analysis.
  • Ability to make technical decisions and complete assignments within budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks and meet established deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
  • Ability to work throughout a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be capable of obtaining a DoD security clearance if required for the program.
