Position Summary:
Using engineering principles and design software, helps to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.
Essential Functions:
• Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Directs and coordinates manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and design requirements.
• Inspects completed installations and observes operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment
specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
• May be involved in developing budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs.
Marginal Functions:
Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
Language/Communication Skills:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience.
Environmental Conditions:
• Indoors in normal manufacturing environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, and fumes.
• Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
• Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet customer deadlines.
• May move from one work location to another occasionally.
