Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience. The role involves completing electrical construction plans and specifications for various types of buildings and facilities under the supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer. The work includes designing lighting, power, and low voltage systems. A solid understanding of building codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical calculations for loads, short circuits, and breaker studies to produce high-quality deliverables for clients.
• Collaborate effectively with team members across all disciplines.
• Work with the current Electrical Department staff and report directly to the Electrical Department Manager.
• Potential for advancement for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Registered EIT or PE, preferred.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment is strongly preferred.
• Competency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge of updated building codes and requirements.

Educational/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3 years of post-graduation experience in the design of electrical systems for buildings preferred.

Additional Attributes Preferred

• Experience with microgrids and prime power generation.
• Effective interpersonal and people management skills.
• Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) for collaboration in a multi-disciplined environment.
• Interest or experience in applying green engineering principles; LEED AP certification is a definite asset.
