Schedule: 9/80 (9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off).
Role Overview: Join our team as a Digital Hardware Engineer. Advance embedded digital hardware for Software Defined Radios (SDR) and accessories. Report to a Senior Engineering Manager. Own the full hardware lifecycle from requirements to manufacturing and field deployment. Solve complex integration challenges in a cross-functional environment. Ensure communication systems meet high performance standards. Must be eligible for US Security Clearance.
Essential Functions and Skills:
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of embedded microprocessor design and integration for ARM Cores, DDR memory interfaces, high-bandwidth USB, and Ethernet.
  • Use simulation tools proficiently, including LTSpice for circuitry, HyperLynx for signal integrity, and MATLAB for system-level modeling.
  • Lead full design cycle, including requirement analysis, schematic capture with Mentor VX/DxDesigner, and complex high-speed PCB layout analysis.
  • Execute subsystem and system-level verification and validation (V&V) test plans using lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to resolve hardware defects.
  • Design for MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC) compliance and adhere to IPC standards for high-reliability environments.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
6+ years relevant experience (4+ with Master's) or 10+ years in Digital Design without degree.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with SDR architectures, embedded SW/VHDL, and Agile configuration management tools.
  • Understanding of SDR and RF architecture interactions between digital boards and RF circuitry.
  • Experience with embedded software, Python scripting, or VHDL for design analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Agile PLM software for product data management and manufacturing introduction.
  • Knowledge of Boundary Scan tools (JTAG) for testing high-density PCBAs.
  • Systems thinking to assess cross-disciplinary impacts like thermal management and software latency.
