    • Distributed generation systems, including solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage, generators, combined heat and power (CHP), fuel cells, and microgrids
    • Electrical power distribution, equipment integration, and utility interconnection
    • Electrical design documentation supporting permitting, construction, and modifications to existing facilities

You'll collaborate with electrical, site/civil, structural, and mechanical engineers, project managers, and construction teams to develop coordinated construction documents. Working under engineering direction, you'll help translate project requirements, equipment information, and review comments into clear, accurate drawings.

This is an opportunity to build practical electrical design skills while contributing to projects that improve energy reliability, resilience, and efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    • Apply electrical engineering fundamentals to support distributed generation projects under the direction of experienced engineers
    • Prepare and revise electrical site plans, equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, schedules, and installation details using AutoCAD
    • Assist with electrical load calculations, conductor and conduit sizing, voltage-drop calculations, and grounding documentation for engineering review
    • Support the integration of generation and energy storage equipment with existing and proposed low- and medium-voltage electrical systems
    • Review manufacturer drawings and technical information, identify missing or conflicting details, and incorporate engineer-approved equipment requirements into project documents
    • Coordinate electrical drawings with civil, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines, including equipment locations, clearances, foundations, and routing
    • Research applicable codes, utility standards, and permitting requirements, and assist engineers with supporting documentation
    • Incorporate quality-control and review comments, check drawing consistency, and maintain accurate revisions and coordinated drawing sets
    • Participate in project meetings and assist with construction questions, drawing revisions, and record documents based on verified field information
    • Other duties as assigned.
