    Electrical Engineering Lead, Data Centers - Remote (U.S.)Full-timeBusiness Group: DCSLegal Entity: AECOM Technical Services IncBusiness Line: B&P - Buildings & PlacesWork Location Model: RemotePrimary Location: US - Arlington, VA - 3101 Wilson BlvCompensation: USD 200,000 - USD 240,000 - yearlyPosition SummaryThe Electrical Engineer will design, implement, and maintain electrical systems in large-scale hyper‑scale data centers, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering with experience working in high‑density data center environments.TravelAlthough primarily remote, occasional travel may be required for client meetings, project milestones, and onsite collaboration sessions.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement electrical systems for hyper‑scale data centers, including medium and low‑voltage power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems.Develop and maintain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings.Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC.Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.Analyze electrical systems to identify and resolve issues, such as load balancing, capacity planning, and power consumption optimization.Monitor and maintain electrical systems, including preventative maintenance, testing, and repairs.Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and training programs for technicians and other staff.Stay current on advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies, recommending new technologies to improve reliability and efficiency.Provide project leadership in the electrical discipline, mentoring mid‑level engineers and acting as Engineer of Record.Provide estimates for engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large, complex projects.Lead technical client relationships and play a major role in engineering sales.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10 years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or engineering focusing on data center infrastructure, or equivalent experience and education.Professional Engineer License (P.E.) required.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 12 years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or engineering focusing on data center infrastructure, or equivalent experience and education.Extensive experience in electrical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities.Strong knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70).Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.Creative thinking to enhance client experience.Experience with BIM software, specifically ACC Cloud.Experience with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.BenefitsComprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, paid time off, leaves of absence, voluntary benefits, travel insurance, retirement savings plan, and employee stock purchase plan.Relocation is not available for this position.
