Electrical Engineering Technician

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an Electrical Engineering Technician job in Bloomfield, CT. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting legacy and new elevator control system electronics through PCB prototyping, test rig development, and failure analysis. In order to be successful in this position, you must have hands-on PCB fabrication and test experience along with an AS in Electrical Engineering or BS in Electrical Engineering Technology. Preference will be given to someone with component obsolescence and root cause failure analysis experience.

Electrical Engineering Technician Job responsibilities:

• Procure components, organize BOMs, and assemble and solder prototype PCBs using stencils, microscopes, and reflow ovens.
• Load software and firmware onto assemblies and test PCB performance.
• Design and fabricate test circuits and test equipment for development and prototyping.
• Identify alternatives for obsolete components, confirm functionality, and document findings.
• Perform first article inspections and root cause failure analysis on field returned assemblies.
• Manage the engineering lab, including instrument calibration, consumables, and test equipment repair.

Qualifications:

• Two to four years of relevant experience
• AS in Electrical Engineering or BS in Electrical Engineering Technology
• Fluency with electrical engineering CAD tools
• Hands-on PCB fabrication and test experience
• In-depth knowledge of lab instruments, test equipment, and hand tools
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and project organization skills

This contract Electrical Engineering Technician job is based in Bloomfield, CT. The hourly pay rate for this role ranges from $30.00 - $35.00. Contractors working through Aquinas Consulting are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, medical indemnity coverage, a 401(k) plan, and biweekly direct deposit pay. Contract roles do not include PTO unless required by applicable state laws.
