501696 Electrical Engineering Technician 

Work Location:            Huntsville, AL

Schedule:                    Full Time - 40 hours per week; 8 hours per day in office (remote work is not authorized)

IronMountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician in Huntsville, AL supporting the Redstone Test Center (RTC) supporting turbine engine test system production programs. The successful candidate must be able to provide technical expertise, follow established procedures and processes, and complete the assembly and wiring of various components.

Job Responsibilities:   

  • Responsible for the hands-on installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, data acquisition (DAQ) hardware, test instrumentation, and electronic assemblies supporting propulsion testing and specialized development programs.
  • Perform high-precision electrical and electronic fabrication, including PCB assembly and soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components in accordance with IPC J-STD requirements, custom cable and wiring harness fabrication, circuit card assembly (CCA), and RF chassis integration.
  • Build, assemble, and test electronic and RF systems incorporating filters, attenuators, combiners, and RF connectors (BNC, N-type, TNC), as well as military-standard and commercial cable assemblies through precision crimping, cutting, termination, and finishing processes.
  • Utilize electronic test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and analyzers, to verify performance, diagnose faults, and support troubleshooting efforts in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering, production, operations, and quality personnel to execute complex testing projects, support prototype development, and drive continuous product improvement.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

Education and General experience: 

  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in a technical, science or business discipline from an accredited college/university and 3 years of applicable experience or an Associates Degree and 5 years of applicable experience or 7 years of experience performing the job duties listed above or 7 years of military training in the assigned specialty area, or a combination thereof.
  • Knowledge of propulsion systems and related testing processes. Expertise in data acquisition systems, test instrumentation, and associated software. Experience troubleshooting and developing electrical systems and software.
  • Proficient in soldering (SMT and through-hole), cable assembly, and use of electronic test equipment.
  • Experience with RF components and connectors, and power supply wiring and connectors.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work closely with division engineers in developing new and unique test-enabling electronics.
  • Familiarity with key instrumentation such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, analyzers, thermocouples, transducers, flow meters, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Must possess clear communications skills and the ability to relay concise information in multiple formats
  • Must possess the ability to meet deadlines and identify solutions to complex problems
  • Must have experience functioning and leading within a team-oriented environment
  • Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs to include Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Clearance Requirements:       Must have or be able to obtain an Active Secret Security Clearance

         Required Travel: <20%
