Electrical Helper

Clayton Services is searching for an Electrical Helper to join a growing industrial project in Wink, Texas. The Electrical Helper will assist experienced electrical personnel with conduit, cable, equipment, and other electrical installation work. This position requires previous hands-on electrical experience and is not an entry-level opportunity.

Location: Wink, TX
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $29.00/hour, depending on experience
Per Diem: $175/day
Schedule: Approximately 70 80 hours per week

Electrical Helper Responsibilities:

• Assist Journeymen, Foremen, and other skilled personnel with electrical construction activities.
• Assist with the installation of conduit, cable tray, supports, electrical equipment, and related components.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and prepare conduit under proper supervision.
• Assist with pulling, routing, organizing, and securing electrical and instrumentation cable.
• Assist with installing electrical supports, mounting hardware, and related components.
• Stage, transport, and organize tools, equipment, and construction materials.
• Identify and work with common electrical materials, fittings, conduit, hardware, and tools.
• Assist with basic electrical assembly and installation activities as directed.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly dispose of construction debris.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use and report damaged or defective equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings, JSAs/JHAs, and toolbox talks.
• Follow all company, client, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Electrical Helper Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience required.
• Previous hands-on experience working in an electrical construction environment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and construction terminology.
• Familiarity with electrical conduit, fittings, cable tray, supports, and common electrical materials.
• Working knowledge of common hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work safely and productively under the direction of experienced electrical personnel.
• Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
• Must be able to meet applicable drug testing, background, orientation, and site-access requirements.

Electrical Helper Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, reach, and work in various positions.
• Ability to safely climb ladders and stairs.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors and in active industrial construction environments.
• Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends as required by the project.
