The Electrical Journeyman Foreman provides on-site leadership, supervision, and technical expertise for large-scale electrical construction, installation, maintenance, and repair projects. This role balances hands-on field execution with supervisory duties—motivating a team of journeymen and apprentices, ensuring strict safety compliance, and keeping projects on schedule and within budget under the general direction of a Project Superintendent.
Field Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor apprentice electricians; set daily direction and foster a highly productive, goal-oriented team environment (crews of 2-8).
Project Management & Execution: Plan, schedule, assign, and inspect the installation of electrical systems, power lines, fixtures, apparatus, and control systems.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all large-scale, complex electrical installations conform strictly to project specifications, blueprints, and local codes.
Logistics & Cost Control: Estimate time and material costs for projected assignments; maintain accurate job records, submit reports, and manage tool/material requisitions.
Safety Enforcement: Actively enforce company safety regulations, conduct site inspections for hazardous or unusual assignments, and champion a zero-incident safety culture.
Operational Flexibility: Manage project timelines with a sense of urgency, adapt to changing project schedules, and coordinate emergency or specialized equipment installations.
Experience & Licensing:
5–7 years of hands-on experience within the commercial, industrial, and/or government electrical trade.
Must possess a current, valid Maryland or Washington, D.C. Journeyman Electrical License.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Screening & Compliance:
Must possess a current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening. Subject to routine and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 75 pounds on a continuous and repetitive basis throughout the workday.
Repetitive bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, and standing for extended periods; comfortable working at various heights above ground and in deep underground/trench environments.
Ability to perform work for extended periods in varying outdoor temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
Comfortable working in standard industrial environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, loud noise, and heavy moving equipment. Work will include heights above ground and depth underground surface.
