About the Role
At General ThermoDynamics (an API Heat Transfer Company), we are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role is critical in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe, efficient production.
The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting capability, electrical expertise, and experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and control panels
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to support uptime and reliability
Respond to equipment failures and implement timely corrective actions
Installation & Upgrades
Install and modify electrical wiring, components, and control systems
Support equipment upgrades, automation initiatives, and capital projects
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Equipment Support
Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment including:
Furnaces
Welding systems
Leak testing equipment
Material handling systems
Support PLC-controlled and automated systems troubleshooting
Safety & Compliance
Follow OSHA, NEC, and NFPA 70E regulations and company safety procedures
Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements
Participate in safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and records
Identify and implement improvements to increase equipment reliability
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Technical degree or certification in Electrical Maintenance or related field preferred
3–7+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience (manufacturing preferred)
Technical Skills
PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
