This role is ideal for an engineer with 5-10 years of experience who is ready to take ownership of project deliverables, serve as a key technical resource, and work directly with clients and project teams on complex facilities.

You will contribute to the design and delivery of projects across our Science & Technology and Mission Critical markets, including laboratories, life sciences and pharmaceutical facilities, telecommunications infrastructure, data centers, and secure environments. We are looking for a technically strong engineer who combines sound engineering judgment with excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and coordinate electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and emergency power systems.
    • Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
    • Perform electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, voltage drop analyses, and other design studies.
    • Support the design of standby power systems, generators, UPS systems, and critical power distribution infrastructure.
    • Evaluate existing electrical systems and develop recommendations for renovations, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
    • Coordinate closely with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, structural, and owner teams throughout project delivery.
    • Participate in client meetings, site investigations, design reviews, and construction progress meetings.
    • Assist Project Managers with project planning, scope management, budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
    • Support construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and punch list activities.
    • Collaborate with senior engineers and technical leaders to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project goals.
    • Mentor junior engineers and designers while contributing to a positive, team-oriented culture.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable building codes, energy codes, industry standards, and firm quality requirements.

    Desired Technical Experience

Candidates should have experience in many of the following areas:

    • Utility service and power distribution design
    • Panelboard, switchboard, and switchgear design
    • Lighting and lighting controls
    • Fire alarm and life safety systems
    • Emergency power and generator systems
    • UPS and critical power infrastructure
    • Grounding and lightning protection systems
    • Power monitoring and metering systems
    • Revit/BIM project delivery
    • Construction administration and field investigations

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
    • 5-10 years of experience in electrical design within an MEP consulting engineering environment.
    • EIT certification required; PE license or progress toward licensure preferred.
    • Experience with data centers, mission critical, life sciences, laboratory, healthcare, telecommunications, or other technically demanding facilities is preferred.
    • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building codes, energy codes, and industry standards.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgment.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

    What Makes Someone Successful Here

    • Strong technical foundation and desire to continuously grow engineering expertise.
    • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and project partners.
    • Collaborative, team-first approach to project delivery.
    • Ownership mindset and commitment to quality.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to thrive in both autonomous and highly collaborative environments.
