Electrical Project Manager / Estimator

An established Chicago-area general contractor with a self-perform electrical group is looking for an Electrical Project Manager / Estimator. You'll price electrical work and then lead it through construction, working closely with field leadership, operations and the preconstruction team.

What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs for self-perform electrical scopes, including power, lighting, low voltage and site electrical
• Review plans, specs and bid documents to build accurate, competitive pricing
• Solicit and level supplier and subcontractor quotes
• Manage awarded electrical projects from buyout through closeout, including budgets, schedules, submittals, RFIs and change orders
• Coordinate labor, materials and sequencing with foremen and superintendents
• Build strong relationships with owners, design partners, suppliers and trade partners

What You Bring

• 5+ years of electrical estimating and/or project management experience with a general contractor or electrical contractor
• Strong takeoff and estimating software skills
• Solid understanding of electrical means and methods, labor productivity and material pricing
• Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable juggling bids and active projects
• Clear communication and a team-first approach
• A degree in construction management, electrical construction or a related field is a plus
