    Description

    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a motivated senior-level Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is vital in driving our project success across diverse sectors, including multifamily, affordable housing, hospitality, adaptive reuse, tenant improvement, high-rise, and mid-rise projects. You will leverage your expertise in electrical design to create effective, energy-efficient, and sustainable solutions while ensuring compliance with local codes and industry standards.

    This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where your contributions will directly impact the quality and success of each project.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead electrical design for various project types and deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, and full design.
    • Develop contract drawings from Schematics through Construction Documents.
    • Apply engineering principles to electrical distribution, lighting and power systems design.
    • Effectively communicate design options to a diverse stakeholder group.
    • Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction.
    • Apply knowledge of building codes and electrical industry standards.
    • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection.
    • Perform site visits and issue reports.
    • Generate and edit project specifications.
    • Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
    • Support construction administration, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
    • Contribute strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Proactively enhance technical quality by staying updated with emerging technologies, evolving building codes, and advancements in the industry.
    • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to produce integrated project documents, ensuring cohesive design strategies and solutions.
    • Manage project time efficiently, contributing to timely project delivery and adherence to quality standards.
    • Mentor junior staff and provide quality control for project documentation.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience in electrical engineering within the building construction industry.
    • Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office products.
    • Experience modeling electrical systems & compiling construction documents in Revit.
    • Experience with NEC.
    • This is an in-person job and will require availability for in person meetings and site visits in addition to a flexible hybrid office policy.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PE license is preferred.
    • LEED AP is preferred.
    • Expert knowledge of Washington State and Seattle codes and sustainable design practices.
    • Electric Utility coordination, including experience with submitting service applications. SCL and PSE experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience with design of Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure.
    • Project Management experience.
