Electrical Systems PVT Engineer

Company Introduction

We are seeking a Plant Vehicle Team Engineer to join a Product Development Team co-located at a major automotive assembly plant alongside the operations team.

Role Summary / Purpose

The Electrical Electronics and Systems (EES) PVT Engineer serves as a first line of defense for quality on vehicle electrical systems. This role is responsible for the complete electrical system of the vehicle, including module software and the electrical distribution system. The successful candidate will lead resolution of design and quality issues by properly defining concerns, determining root cause, and coordinating resolution with appropriate skill teams to ensure containment activities protect customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily warranty claim binning, triaging incoming claims, and prioritizing containment actions based on claim count and priority ranking
• Manage the change process for Engineering Issues by coordinating plant trials, leading change sign-off processes, and ensuring the manufacturing plant is ready to incorporate design changes
• Support error proofing systems by identifying resolutions for both internal and external issues
• Attend VRT sub-system meetings and work with supporting skill teams to resolve quality and design issues
• Review internal end-of-line electrical issues, triage DTCs, and develop workplans to resolve
• Leverage quality systems to identify customer issues based on DTC information
• Lead design resolution of low voltage EDS issues
• Review pre-production vehicles for potential campaign items and assess warranty impact
• Participate in vehicle builds and lead resolution of issues using AIMS/JIRA
• Develop roadmap to eliminate high-impact internal and external issues
• Develop business cases for engineering changes using facts and applicable data
• Lead engineering changes from initial concept through production launch

Requirements - Education & Experience

• System engineering experience
• Root cause analysis experience
• Quality improvement experience
• Low voltage wiring experience

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills

• Functional knowledge of vehicle electrical systems
• Functional knowledge of vehicle wiring systems

This is a fully onsite position. Candidates must be available to work onsite from day one. Remote work is not an option for this role.
