Electrician - City of West Allis Department of Public Works
We're looking for a skilled Electrician to join our dedicated Public Works team and help keep our city shining, safe,and running strong.

This position requires flexibility for nights, weekends, emergency call-ins, and participation in rotational watch duty.

What You'll Do
• Install, repair, and test electrical systems, including wiring, switches, panels, outlets, transformers, and lighting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, generators, timing devices, and battery systems.
• Perform routine maintenance-inspect, clean, lubricate, and adjust components.
• Locate underground cables using the Diggers Hotline Network.
• Diagnose issues in both low- and high-voltage systems using voltmeters, ohmmeters, meggers, and other tools.
• Install and repair streetlight poles, underground cable runs, and beacon lights on City water towers.
• Inspect and maintain switches, transformers, and control cabinets.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings accurately.
• Estimate job costs, sketch circuits, and order required materials.
• Operate City vehicles safely and serve the public with professionalism.
• Communicate clearly, maintain reliable attendance, and assist with related duties as needed.

What You'll Bring
• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
