Role overview
Express Employment Professionals is hiring experienced maintenance talent for industrial facilities in Champaign and Rantoul. You’ll keep critical equipment online through diagnostics, repair, and proactive maintenance. Multiple shifts are available; placement aligns with your background and schedule.
Core responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair production, processing, packaging, and material-handling equipment
- Execute preventive maintenance and condition inspections
- Repair/replace mechanical components: bearings, belts, motors, pumps, valves, gearboxes
- Respond to equipment breakdowns; determine failure causes and restore function
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and PLC diagnostics as required by the assignment
- Apply welding and basic fabrication for equipment repairs where applicable
- Assist with installs, setups/adjustments, and equipment upgrades
- Document work performed and communicate recurring issues
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance, millwright work, or equipment repair
- Proven mechanical troubleshooting ability and independence with routine repairs
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Ability to read manuals, technical drawings, and relevant schematics
- Dependable attendance and strong safety habits
Valued extras
- Electrical troubleshooting and PLC experience
- Welding skills; TIG capability is a plus
- Requirements differ by opening—candidates with strong mechanical backgrounds are encouraged to apply
Work environment & physical demands
- Industrial/manufacturing settings
- Extended standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting components
- Operating around machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
- Use of required PPE at all times
