Electromechanical Service Technician – Metallurgical Processing

City: Cleveland, OH (near Detroit Avenue)

Rate: $28.00+/hour

Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Overtime Available)

The mission

Support a well-established heat-treating company serving automotive, aerospace, and heavy industrial manufacturing. You’ll work around advanced thermal processing systems—vacuum furnaces, salt bath furnaces—and collaborate with an in-house metallurgical testing lab to keep operations running smoothly.

What you’ll do

• Execute preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment
• Install/replace belts, bearings, chains, and related mechanical components
• Troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical problems quickly
• Test equipment after service to confirm proper function
• Handle mechanical/electrical maintenance assignments as needed
• Perform facility upkeep such as painting and cleaning
• Read and apply blueprints and technical drawings
• Use basic MIG welding for repair tasks
• Operate forklifts to assist with equipment movement
• Use Microsoft Word and Outlook for documentation and communication

Picture a typical challenge

A furnace trips mid-run. You interpret the drawing, isolate the issue, replace the worn component, complete a basic weld for reinforcement, and then test the unit to confirm the cycle is back on spec—all while communicating status updates through Outlook.

What you bring

• 2–4 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Comfort reading blueprints/technical documentation
• Basic MIG welding experience
• Forklift experience preferred
• Ability to lift 40–50 pounds; steel toe boots required

Environment

Expect heat, dust, humidity, noise, and fumes typical of a manufacturing facility. The work is physical with frequent standing and bending.
