Electronic Assembler SMT/AOI

PGS Worldwide is seeking Electronic Assemblers – SMT/AOI in Austin, Texas for approximately five-month onsite contract-to-hire roles supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support electronic and electromechanical assembly with an emphasis on soldering, automated optical inspection, surface-mount technology, and production quality.

Required Skills

• Hands-on soldering experience.
• Experience with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection).
• Experience with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and/or pick-and-place equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Experience assembling or modifying electronic or electromechanical components.
• Ability to inspect completed work for quality and conformance.
• Ability to become solder certified.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 experience or certification.
• Experience with solder reflow ovens.
• Experience with semi-automated pick-and-place equipment.
• Experience using fixtures, automated measurement equipment, MRP systems, or production data-collection systems.
• Cleanroom manufacturing experience.

What You'll Do

• Assemble, disassemble, and modify electronic and electromechanical subassemblies.
• Perform soldering and related electronic assembly operations.
• Operate or support SMT and pick-and-place processes.
• Perform AOI and self-inspection of completed assemblies.
• Inspect parts and materials before use.
• Follow drawings, work instructions, process plans, and production documentation.
• Support quality-focused manufacturing in a cleanroom production environment.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, approximately 4:30 PM–3:00 AM
• Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, approximately 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• Weekend-shift employees may initially train Monday–Thursday.

Pay

• $26.61 per hour, including applicable shift differential.
