Electronics Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Test & Troubleshooting Technician in Clearwater, FL for an approximately one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position focuses on testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and subassemblies in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong component-level troubleshooting skills, experience with analog and digital circuitry, and proficiency using electronic test equipment.

Required Skills

• Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic circuit card assemblies (CCAs) to the component level.

• Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic subassemblies to the module level.

• Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams to isolate failures in analog and digital circuitry.

• Strong knowledge of solid-state electronic devices and microcircuitry.

• Proficiency using electronic measurement and test equipment, including digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, and signal generators.

• Experience setting up test apparatus and performing electronic testing according to established procedures and specifications.

• Ability to diagnose malfunctions and perform adjustments or component replacements.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to work efficiently in a production environment while meeting quality standards and customer schedules.

• Ability to work Thursday–Sunday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with vibration testing, including MIL-STD-167-1A.

• Familiarity with thermal stress testing.

• Experience adjusting and calibrating electronic assembly systems.

• Experience supporting engineering teams with test procedure development and product improvements.

• Familiarity with statistical process control and quality verification procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Set up electronic test equipment and conduct testing of circuit card assemblies and electronic subassemblies.

• Troubleshoot circuit card assemblies to the component level and subassemblies to the module level.

• Use schematic diagrams to identify and isolate failures in analog and digital electronic circuits.

• Perform functional testing and evaluate electronic assemblies against established performance requirements.

• Operate digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment.

• Assemble and configure electronic units according to engineering drawings, designs, and specifications.

• Adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems as required.

• Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions through adjustments or component replacement.

• Analyze test results to evaluate product performance and identify potential issues.

• Recommend modifications to testing equipment, manufacturing processes, or product designs.

• Assist engineers with developing test procedures for new products.

• Support production quality requirements and verify compliance with established testing standards.

• Maintain productivity and accuracy in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Thursday–Sunday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM.

• Four 10.5-hour scheduled shifts, including any applicable meal periods.

• Must be available to work the specified evening/overnight schedule.

Pay

$22.00–$35.00 per hour.
