Global Service Resources is looking for a contractor in Los Angeles.

Job Title: Email Security Operation 965
Location: Downey, CA 90242 - Remote
Assignment type: Temporary - 12 months w/ high chance of extension or hire
Pay rate: $60-$65/hour

Description:

• Secure complex systems, improve privacy, and promote secure development practices.
• Conduct security audits, risk assessments, vulnerability testing, and code reviews.
• Develop solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities and research emerging cyber threats.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and sensitive data protection.
• 10+ years of experience developing and implementing security solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
• Available Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM PT, with on-call support for incidents.
• Reliable laptop with camera and microphone for virtual meetings.

Additional Requirements:

• Expertise in Proofpoint Email Protection, secure email gateways (SEG), API deployments, and Abnormal Security.
• Experience with Exchange Server, Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Microsoft Defender.
• Strong knowledge of SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and email DNS records.
• Skilled in SIEM analysis, email threat investigations, and incident response.
• Ability to detect and mitigate phishing, malware, spam, impersonation, and account compromise.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, security configurations, change control, and vendor coordination.
• Advanced troubleshooting of email security and mail-flow issues.
• Ability to create technical documentation and procedures.
• 3+ years of recent cybersecurity experience with IDS/IPS, MFA, SIEM, DLP, SOCaaS, incident response, malware analysis, vulnerability management, and Secureworks Taegis XDR/MDR.
• 3+ years of recent experience with Proofpoint, Abnormal, Cisco CMD, Darktrace, Microsoft security tools, and PRTG.
• 3+ years of recent experience integrating cloud email with on-premises gateways, optimizing email security systems, and migrating platforms with minimal downtime.
• 3+ years of recent experience managing Proofpoint, email blacklisting, sender reputation, and SPF/DKIM/DMARC troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
