Role Overview

As an Embedded Operator at Method, you'll be responsible for the security outcomes with customers, the technical delivery of Method platform, and the enablement users to ensure they are winning. It is a unique mix of hands-on security operations, security tool development, solution architecture, user enablement, and reliability engineering.

Tactically, day-to-day, this means sitting side by side our best users in their daily operations, administering Method platform, training users, troubleshooting, understanding user workflows and pain points, and developing new security tradecraft as the tip of the spear. Strategically, you are the security lead for customers, and you turn a deep understanding of their mission into platform and business advantages.

You have a technical background (CS degree, cyber security degree, or professional cyber operator) and want to maintain your technical chops while staying close to the mission. Likely you are former national cyber operator, red teamer, pentester, security analyst, or engineer with a passion for cyber.

A security background is a requirement. If your security background is not deep, you must be extremely curious and committed to becoming and expert.

You have a business counterpart in the Deployment Lead role which is responsible for the overall customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Method Platform alongside users to develop wins and best practices for customers.

• Map and understand technical workflows from users and create well scoped product opportunities with Method Product Development.

• Develop security tradecraft to integrate directly into Method Platform to unlock new value with users.

• Deploy, debug, and integrate Method platform into customer environments and security stacks.

• Troubleshoot Method Platform operations with users.

• Create and manage test range environments for onboarding, training, and testing.

• Serve as the customer facing technical and security expert.

• Collaborate with engineers to develop new features and user experiences for all customers.

Qualifications

• Security expertise (especially in offensive and proactive defense disciplines) and commitment to furthering your craft.

• Deep curiosity about how systems work and obsession over the details.

• Proficiency in software development and prototyping. Experience in Python and Go is preferred.

• High agency mindset to proactively identify issues and solve them self-service.

• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and their impact to non-security stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with offensive security.

• Familiarity with container security, cloud security, or other infrastructure-focused security domains.

• U.S. Security Clearance.

Base Salary Range: $140,000-$190,000
