Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate with expertise defining, architecting, and delivering next-generation vehicle features from concept through production while translating business needs into system and software requirements.

Rate Range: $42/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Embedded Systems Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead the definition, architecture, and development of vehicle features from concept through production, ensuring alignment with customer, business, and engineering requirements.

• Develop system requirements, functional specifications, logical architectures, and software implementation requirements for complex embedded vehicle systems.

• Create and maintain engineering artifacts including System Boundary Diagrams, DFMEAs, verification plans, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, and vehicle integration teams to drive feature development and resolve complex technical challenges.

• Apply Systems Engineering V-Model methodologies to support product design, validation planning, integration, and production readiness activities.

• Support functional safety, cybersecurity, and systems engineering assessments while guiding software implementation and feature delivery throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• 3+ years of Automotive Systems Engineering experience and 3+ years of embedded software engineering experience supporting complex vehicle systems.

• Hands-on experience developing vehicle features from concept through production, including requirements development, functional specifications, and systems architecture.

• Strong expertise in Systems Engineering V-Model methodologies, DFMEAs, System Boundary Diagrams, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.

Pay Details: $42.00 to $45.00 per hour
