SBU Account Executive– Employee Benefits

Las Vegas, NV | (Hybrid)

We’re seeking an Employee Benefits Account Executive who will make a meaningful impact by delivering proactive client service, thoughtful benefits strategy, and a high-touch experience for both clients and employees.

The SBU Account Executive serves as the primary point of contact for anywhere between 150-200 small business clients, 2-9 in employee size. This role requires top notch reactive service and support throughout the client lifecycle. They are responsible for taking a warm lead beginning to end, managing client renewals, staying highly organized in order to handle the large volume of clients, helps with billing and claim issues, and processes eligibility requests. The ideal candidate is quick to respond, detail-oriented, has clear communication skills, is comfortable explaining benefit options, is educated on the small group benefits market, and is committed to helping the local small businesses in our community.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do / Your Impact

  • Assist clients’ employees with day-to-day questions that arise with regard to employee benefit program
  • Promptly respond to all employee and company contact inquiries (no longer than 24 hours, but as fast as possible)
  • Work in carrier portals to send ID Cards as requested and process urgent eligibility
  • Educate clients on how to utilize carrier portals for automatic payments, ID cards, and provider search functions.
  • Promptly identify and resolve claim/billing issues, working with the employee, the insurance carrier, and sometimes pharmacies and providers
  • Assist in all areas of the new business and renewal process including, but not limited to:
    • taking a warm lead beginning to end
    • proposal creation utilizing excel template and online quoting tools
    • initial writing and submission of the group policy
    • download renewals from carrier portals
    • request quotes from ancillary carriers
    • begin renewal communications 60 days from renewal
    • virtual presentations phone call to walk through options
    • open enrollment meetings virtually or through email
  • Keep Health & Life license up to date
  • Conduct virtual open enrollment meetings upon request and distribute open enrollment materials electronically.
  • Offer guidance on COBRA administration setup for Association Health Plan (AHP) groups
  • Work with Insurance Carriers regarding plan renewals, contract changes and other matters
  • Manage high number of clients efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring all client documentation is properly saved in the shared drive with correct naming conventions.
  • Keep Account Management System updated with accurate group renewal dates, policies, contacts, tax IDs, and other plan details.
  • Track all active clients on Renewal Calendar Checklist template
  • Prioritize workload and utilize the tools and resources available to maximize your efforts
  • Maintain the core values of the benefits department: honor commitments, be organized, be thorough, be helpful, and be prompt.
  • Provide training and mentoring to peers
Qualifications:

What You Bring

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience supporting employee group benefits
  • Active Life & Health insurance license
  • Strong listening skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions

Preferred

  • Experience with benefits enrollment systems and compliance processes
  • Experience presenting benefits information to client groups

Additional Information:

Compensation:
Salary range: $55,000 – $65,000 per year
