Job Objective:
Assists physicians with all basic endoscopic procedures including advanced and complex procedures requiring advanced training. Reprocesses procedural scopes, bedside, manual and HLD cleaning, maintenance and storage of the endoscopy equipment.
Job Description:
Education: Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree Preferred: Completion of Advanced EUS/ERCP Training, the SGNA Associates Program and Advance Program Modules Licensure/Certification: Required: American Heart Association BLS Experience: Required: Two (2) years of experience as Endoscopy Technician or similar position Preferred: Endoscopy Technician experience
Reports To: Manager or Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: High Potential
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations, Ability to operate general office equipment (i.e., computer, printer, scanner, telephone, etc.), Knowledge of general GI (Colonoscopy, EGD, EUS, DRCP, Enterescopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy, Single Balloon, Endo Stitch, Bravo, Halo, Clips) Procedures, ERCP, EUS, Reprocessing scopes and departmental equipment, Knowledge of the endoscopy environment regarding traffic patterns and integrity of the procedure table, Knowledge of theory and safety when using cautery modalities including monopolar, bipolar and argon plasma coagulation and their various probes
