    Engineer 1 – Design

    Job Summary

    The Engineer 1 – Design Contractor supports the planning, design, and development of technical standards for natural gas distribution infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented engineer with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to contribute to the advancement of safe, efficient gas delivery systems. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to think critically, work independently, and communicate effectively across teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support gas storage and fueling station design assignments.

    • Design pipeline components, mechanical systems, and functionality.

    • Assist in planning and designing mechanical equipment and support maintenance activities.

    • Perform system balances to assess and resolve pipeline system challenges.

    • Provide field support and oversight during construction activities.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or General required).

    • 1–3 years of progressive engineering experience in design or related field.

    • Equivalent academic education and experience will be considered.

    Certifications

    • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certification preferred.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong project management and task prioritization skills.

    • Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills required).

    • Basic proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

    • Intermediate proficiency in CAD/GIS platforms for design and mapping.

    • Customer-focused, critical thinker, with initiative and adaptability.

    • Proven ability to collaborate within a matrix organizational structure (cross-functional and hierarchical teams).
