The Engineer I general function will be to perform defined and related to the maintenance and repair of physical plant and mechanical equipment within Lake County facilities. This candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, repair and operation of central heating/cooling plants, back-up electrical power systems, HVAC, water and electrical infrastructure, fire and life safety systems, and food service and refrigeration equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND HAZARDS OF THE POSITION
Requires work involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurrent basis, and up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and high dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard, phone, copier, etc. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work standing for long periods of time, work in extreme environments.
May be exposed to bright/dim lights, dust and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, extreme noise levels, animals/wildlife, traffic, moving machinery, electrical shock, heights.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision and the ability to hear and speak to understand, respond to and build relationships with a diverse clientele. Color, depth and texture perception.
