Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer III is responsible for analyzing and optimizing the processes, systems, and procedures within the business unit they support. The position will lead and execute projects focused on improving operational performance, reducing costs, capital project justifications, and enhancing product or service quality. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and providing solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety. The individual will work to ensure that Lean objectives are met and exceeded. Supporting a newly constructed mega-DC in Waco, GA, the individiaul will lead engineering support for automated system design and assume ownership of post go-live performance, driving sustained efficiency, utilization, and operational effectiveness.

This role will transition to our new Mega Distribution Center in Waco, GA (est. opening Q4 26). Until then, the position will be based in Villa Rica, GA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze data from SAP and BI via queries to identify and deliver recommendations for improvement.
  • Design and implement improvements in process flow, layout, and equipment utilization using lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to streamline operations and achieve operational targets.
  • Identify and manage project objectives, scope, timelines, and budget to improve operational processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity. Report on project progress and adhere to timelines.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on project outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and implement standard work, standard operating procedures for business unit, ensuring processes and engineering solutions comply with safety standards and regulations.
  • Identify capital project opportunities, develop capital request write-ups, project justification, project budget prioritization and lead management of the project to meet expectations.
  • Develop and maintain systems to monitor and track key metrics such as throughput, storage capacity, cycle time, and resource utilization.
  • Maintain and optimize SAP configurations to fully utilize system capabilities.
  • Build strong relationships with site leadership and team members to understand business challenges and provide solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in industrial engineering and lead the integration of new technologies to enhance process efficiency (e.g., automation, robotics, ERP systems).

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in engineering. Industrial Engineering degree highly preferred.
  • Five years experience minimum in industrial engineering.
