Engineer Intern - Industrial

The Vocational segment includes market leading brands McNeilus, Oshkosh S-Series, IMT, Pierce, MAXIMETAL, Oshkosh Airport Products, and Frontline Communications. Our purpose-built products serve our communities with carefully designed and engineered refuse trucks, front-discharge mixer trucks, fire apparatus, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting trucks, service vehicles, and command trucks. Assist the Industrial Engineering department in successfully achieving manufacturing goals and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The Industrial Engineer Intern will receive assignments from the Manager of Manufacturing, or an assigned representative, and will be encouraged to contribute ideas and suggestions.

YOUR IMPACT

• Support production processes

• Able to develop work instructions

• Engage employees to problem solve

• Perform time studies

• Perform workstation/cell analyses to improve productivity and quality

• Source or design better tooling/equipment

• Manage project work assigned by the manager

• Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling

• Assist with plant layout and workstation design

• Learn and use ERP (JDE) manufacturing software

• Learn and use Windchill/Creo

• Interests will include Torque Tools, High Voltage Systems, Cranes and Tooling Fixtures

• All other duties or projects as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or other related Engineering field

• Graduation date of December 2027 or later

• Willing to travel or relocate to Murfreesboro, TN for the Summer of 2027 (relocation assistance provided for those with a permanent address of greater than 50 miles from Murfreesboro, TN).

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge or exposure to JD Edwards

• Exposure to Lean and 5S Concepts

• Experience in Manufacturing/Assembly

• Experience with AGVs

• Experience with Excel

• Experience with AutoCAD

• Experience with Heavy Equipment
