DETAILS
Job Overview
Position Summary
Engineers keep our venues, vessels, and properties safe, functional, and guest-ready across every market we operate. Working within the Engineering, Facilities & Marine function, they perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair across the full portfolio — restaurants and event spaces, historic vessels, seasonal and outdoor operations, and residential and real estate assets. They support the life-safety and compliance program, keep vendor-serviced systems running, and help bring new and renovated spaces across the finish line. Their work protects daily operations, regulatory standing, and the standard of appearance guests expect.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and safety checks across land-based venues, vessels, and properties — restaurant and bar equipment, refrigeration, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), plumbing (hot water, pumps, toilets, sinks, drains), and electrical systems
Complete repairs and small build-outs using basic carpentry, drywall, and finish skills
Paint, seal, and finish buildings, vessels, fixtures, and furniture
Maintain small engines and outboard motors; support vessel readiness for daily operation and shipyard periods
Support the life-safety and compliance program: confirm fire extinguishers, alarms (fire and burglar), cameras, grease traps, and life-safety systems are serviced and functional, and escalate deficiencies promptly
Escort and support specialty vendors on site and verify completed vendor work meets standard
Execute work orders through the work-order system; identify and source parts; communicate repair status and timelines to operations and management
Perform seasonal setup and breakdown, preventive maintenance cycles, pressure washing, and deep cleaning
Available to work evenings, with 1–2 weekend rotations per month, and respond to facility emergencies as scheduled
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of skilled trade or all-around facilities/maintenance experience across multiple systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
Experience in the operation, construction, or management of facilities, restaurants, vessels, or small craft
Boat-handling experience and familiarity with nautical terminology for marine-assigned roles (Captain’s License or USCG (United States Coast Guard) credentials a plus)
Working knowledge of building and life-safety systems and the discipline to document and report on them
Strong communication, highly organized, and able to prioritize and manage time in a fast-paced, multi-venue environment
Comfortable coordinating with outside vendors and trades
Provides own basic hand and handheld power tools
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Able to lift 50+ lbs
Stand and walk for extended periods
Work in cold, heat, and all outdoor weather conditions
Comfortable working on and around vessels and open water
Comfortable at heights, in confined spaces, and around mechanical and electrical systems
