At Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach, we're looking for a skilled and service-oriented Engineer on Duty to help maintain the comfort, safety, and appearance of our beautiful beachfront resort. Whether responding to a guest room maintenance request, troubleshooting building systems, or performing preventive maintenance, you'll play a key role in creating an exceptional experience for every guest and team member.

What You'll Do
As an Engineer on Duty, you'll perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks throughout the resort while providing prompt, courteous service to both guests and fellow team members.
Responsibilities include:
- Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair guest room fixtures, appliances, lighting, locks, doors, and furnishings.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance assignments to ensure resort equipment and facilities remain in excellent condition.
- Inspect public areas, guest rooms, back-of-house spaces, and mechanical areas to identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain swimming pool, spa, and water feature equipment as assigned.
- Perform repairs to lighting, flooring, ceilings, walls, doors, windows, and other building components.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment.
- Complete work orders accurately and document completed repairs using the resort's maintenance management system.
- Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies and assist with urgent operational needs.
- Support resort renovations, special projects, and equipment installations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team and other departments to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Engineering leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in hotel, resort, commercial building, or facilities maintenance preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple work orders in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a guest-first attitude.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
