Job Summary
Supports the Quality Engineering (QE) team at a manufacturing facility by improving safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and ergonomics. The role focuses on process controls, assembly/weld processes, quality documentation, corrective actions, inspections, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and implement continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and ergonomics.
· Establish process controls, tooling, assembly methods, OMS, and control plans for operational changes.
· Use SAP, MPPlanner, and JDAAT to perform engineering functions.
· Drive closed-loop corrective actions for assembly and weld build issues.
· Support in-line inspection and quality activities.
· Read and interpret engineering prints, CMM reports, and measurement data.
· Develop and maintain shop-floor documentation, including: Sequence of Events (SOE), PFMEA, Operator Method Sheets (OMS)
· Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Management to ensure process compliance.
· Support shop-floor personnel with containment and inspection activities.
· Provide daily reporting and documentation on completed work and priorities.
· Support process documentation and control activities.
· Use engineering tools, systems, and databases to support manufacturing processes.
· Work effectively with both salaried and hourly/wage personnel.

Required Skills & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
· Experience in manufacturing assembly and weld processes.
· Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment.
· Ability to read engineering prints, CMM reports, and measurement data.
· Experience with shop-floor documentation such as SOE, PFMEA, and OMS.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to work effectively with salaried and hourly personnel.
· Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases.
· Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications.
· Willingness to learn, adapt, and respond to changing business needs.
· Ability to work off-shifts and weekends when required.
Preferred Skills
· MPPlanner experience for SOE and OMS development.
· Closed-loop corrective action experience.
· JDAAT coding and other MES systems such as SAP or Ignition.
· Experience working in a union manufacturing environment.
· Torque tooling experience.
· AutoCAD experience.
· Creo View software experience.
· Experience with GD&T, CMM, ISO, and manufacturing data/analytics is beneficial.
