Duties and Responsibilities:

This position leads the evaluation, integration, interoperability assessment, testing, and fielding of third-party hardware and software capabilities within the Army's tactical communications and command and control ecosystem. Working closely with Product Managers, Program Offices, operational units, and industry partners, the Engineer Scientist supports the engineering lifecycle and helps ensure emerging technologies are integrated in support of Nett Warrior, Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2), Transformation in Contact (TiC), Tactical Edge Networking (TEN), and related Army modernization initiatives. Work includes systems integration, requirements analysis, technical evaluation, interoperability testing, and operational support.  A successful Engineer/Scientist - III at ACI will:
  • Possess strong knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Network (ITN), Nett Warrior architecture, and Army tactical communications systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in systems engineering, interoperability analysis, systems integration, and technical evaluation of complex military command and control capabilities,
  • Understand Army tactical operations and the application of command-and-control systems in support of modernization initiatives including NGC2, Transformation in Contact (TiC), and Tactical Edge Networking (TEN).
  • Lead complex technical integration efforts involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and evolving operational requirements.
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with senior government leaders, operational units, acquisition professionals, engineers, and industry partners to achieve mission objectives.
  • Apply engineering principles across the full system lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and sustainment.
  • Analyze complex technical challenges and provide practical recommendations that improve interoperability, operational effectiveness, and mission success across the tactical network.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert, evaluating emerging commercial and government technologies for integration into Army tactical communications and command and control ecosystems.
A Technical Analyst who fits our team is:
  • Dynamic: contributes energy and enthusiasm to our daily tasks, to the team’s interactions, and to the Company’s mission.
  • Thorough: possesses an unparalleled work ethic; produces complete, even polished products; persistent; mission-focused; asks “Why?” as often as necessary to get to the root of the matter.
  • Mature: respects others’ opinions, beliefs, and culture; listens to ideas, shares thoughts, and works independently and together to contribute insights to the company’s leaders.
  • Forthright: speaks with conviction; argues based on understanding, respectfully.
  • Inquisitive: seeks deeper explanations of how systems work, not the surface-level description of the actors involved; goes beyond “stick-fetching” to connect the unconnected.
  • Timely: shows up, ready to think, prepared to get on with the day’s assignments; contributes analytical insights that meet time-sensitive, reasonable requests.
  • Honest: knows what’s right, what’s legal, what’s appropriate; acts accordingly.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to work independently or within a team environment, manage competing priorities, produce technical documentation, and travel as required to support customer operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience employing Nett Warrior or comparable Situational Awareness and Command and Control systems.
  • Experience supporting Army tactical communications, Mission Command systems, operational units, or military network modernization initiatives.
  • Experience operating tactical radios and developing communications architectures, including communications planning, Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET) waveforms, and Common Operating Picture (COP) data flows.
