Job Purpose
Leads design, development, and certification activities for cabin systems including: Cabin Management System, Lighting, and In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity for Honda Aircraft Company.
Key Accountabilities
Development Project Lead
Leads assigned cabin system development projects end-to-end, from requirements definition, concept development, detailed engineering, Qualification, manufacturing through Entry into Service and beyond. Owns planning, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, data analysis, reporting, and technical judgment. Collaborates cross-functionally within Honda (design, supply chain, production, quality, program management) and system suppliers, taking ownership of issues and driving root cause analysis and countermeasures to meet schedule, budget, and requirements targets.
Integrator
Sets and maintains technical direction to meet or exceed project targets and guides internal and external stakeholders through Statement of Work Execution. Acts as technical liaison between relevant interfacing systems 9electrical, mechanical) with Honda and suppliers to ensure smooth and well-integrated engineering and implementation.
Project & Testing Communication
Collaborates in the development and implementation of system test plans and qualification. Provides clear, regular communication on project and testing status. Presents results and plans at each development stage, assists internal and external stakeholders through product lifecycle and deliverable completion, and maintains project management and scheduling /action tools (ex: Jira) to ensure project execution.
Research and Development
Research and maintain up to date knowledge of technical data pertaining to cabin systems including competitor data and new advancements in aircraft and related industries (e.g. automotive, home, and nautical)
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering from a four-year college or university is required. (In lieu of degree, management may elect to consider individuals with a equivalent years of combined experience and training.)
Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
Minimum Experience
8 years of previous development and leadership experience with Business Aircraft Cabin Systems development
Other Job-Specific Skills
Working knowledge of conceptual design development of business aircraft cabin systems
Working knowledge of industry standards (i.e. parts lists, bill of materials, parts and standards callout, etc).
Proficiency in CATIA V5 workbenches or equivalent 3D modeling tools
Proficiency in Teamcenter or equivalent PLM tool.
Proficiency in Adobe Creating Suite for Graphical development
Proficiency Figma, Adobe XD, or similar UX/UI design tools or application wireframe tools.
Experience in Software and hardware development of cabin lighting, CMS, Audio, switching and other related systems, as well as app development and UX/UI design.
Prior project management experience, including use of tools such as Jira.
Understanding of cabin systems requirements and regulatory guidelines
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and installation standards
Demonstrated experience authoring technical reports and development documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical environment.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
Self-directed, detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple priorities and performing well under pressure in a culturally diverse environment.
