    Description

    12-Month Contract (Potential for extension)The Planet Group is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join one of our Fortune 500 utility clients supporting natural gas distribution projects throughout Southeast Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in utility engineering, gas distribution design, GIS technologies, and field construction support who enjoy working closely with engineering and operations teams.This position is based onsite and requires regular travel to local project sites throughout the region.What You'll DoDesign natural gas distribution systems for customer relocations, capacity improvements, and system reliability projects.Partner with engineering, operations, and construction teams throughout project execution.Support gas distribution replacement and infrastructure improvement projects.Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to capture and document as-built utility asset information.Verify field conditions and document construction changes for engineering records.Maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and integrated GIS/GPS records.Participate in pre-construction meetings, operating reviews, and technology demonstrations.Support projects requiring accurate positional verification of underground utility assets.Travel to project sites throughout Southeast Michigan as required.Work additional hours during peak construction season when needed.Required QualificationsTechnical understanding of natural gas distribution systems.Knowledge of construction practices, utility design principles, and construction print reading.Understanding of utility safety practices and regulatory requirements.Experience coordinating multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Strong communication and presentation skills.Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.Willingness to work onsite five days per week.Preferred QualificationsExperience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Field Maps.Experience using GPS hardware and software.Knowledge of surveying control practices.Familiarity with utility asset records development.Previous experience supporting natural gas utility construction projects.Consumers Energy Locating Facilities Certification (highly preferred).OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification is required prior to starting.Candidates working in Michigan must meet applicable MIOSHA Part 9 training requirements.Travel to project sites throughout Southeast Michigan is required.No per diem is available.Candidates outside the local commuting area must be willing to relocate at their own expense before the start date.If you're looking to apply your engineering, GIS, and utility design experience on high-impact infrastructure projects with an industry-leading energy company, we'd love to hear from you.#J-18808-Ljbffr
