Position Overview:Looking for an internship where you'll do more than sit behind a desk, organize spreadsheets, or watch someone else work?
At Universal Engineering Sciences (UES), we believe the best way to learn is by getting involved.
We're looking for curious, motivated students who want to take what they're learning in the classroom and apply it to real construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects.
From highways and bridges to schools, hospitals, and commercial developments, our teams help ensure the structures communities depend on are built safely and correctly.
Whether you're interested in fieldwork, geotechnical engineering, or laboratory testing, we have opportunities to help you explore your career path.
Get outside. Get hands-on. See how construction really works.
Spend time on active construction sites alongside experienced Field Technicians and engineers, learning how construction materials are tested and inspected.
You'll gain exposure to:
Concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregate testing.
Field inspections and construction quality control.
Soil compaction testing and concrete sampling.
Specialized testing equipment and field documentation.
Working with contractors, engineers, and project teams.
Preferred Majors:
Civil Engineering
Construction Management
Construction Engineering
Construction Science
Engineering Technology
Building Construction Technology
Other related engineering or construction disciplines
Discover what's happening beneath the surface.
Before a building, bridge, or roadway can be constructed, engineers need to understand the ground supporting it.
As a Geotechnical Intern, you'll have the opportunity to learn how engineers investigate soil conditions, evaluate construction sites, and develop solutions for real-world engineering challenges.
You'll gain exposure to:
Geotechnical field investigations and soil sampling.
Subsurface exploration and drilling operations.
Soil classification and engineering properties.
Field data collection and technical documentation.
Working alongside geotechnical engineers on active projects.

Get hands-on with the science behind construction.
Ever wonder how engineers know whether soil, concrete, or other materials are strong enough to support a major project?
Our laboratories play an important role in answering those questions.
You'll gain exposure to:
Laboratory testing of soil, concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials.
Preparing and evaluating material samples.
Operating laboratory testing equipment.
Recording test results and supporting quality control procedures.
Understanding how laboratory findings support engineering and construction decisions.
Preferred Majors:
