[Responsibilities]
- Prepare and validate detailed takeoff quantities and cost estimates for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction scopes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive estimating templates and historical cost databases tailored to aerospace-grade projects.
- Collaborate directly with design engineers, project managers, procurement, and construction teams to clarify project scopes and resolve constructability questions.
- Perform quantity takeoffs using drawings, specifications, and BIM models; apply precise labor, material, and equipment rates.
- Generate competitive bid packages, analyze subcontractor quotations, and conduct value engineering analyses; review and track bid outcomes.
- Support ongoing cost control by evaluating change orders and performing cost impact analyses throughout project lifecycles.
- Contribute to risk assessments, contingency planning, and cost reporting for senior leadership.
- Ensure all estimating activities comply with Lockheed Martin policies, contract requirements, and government regulations (FAR, DFARS).
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Certified Construction Estimator or minimum of 5 years of direct construction estimating experience.
- 2-4 years estimating for large-scale, high-tech, or government contracted projects.
- Hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence and estimating programs.
- Advanced proficiency in estimating software (Sage Estimating, WinEst, ProEst) and analytical tools (Excel, Power BI).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and industry standards (AIA, ASCE).
- Ability to interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills for presenting cost data to diverse audiences.
[Preferred Skills]
- Experience with aerospace or defense facility projects, especially with Lockheed Martin or other prime contractors.
- Knowledge of government contracting regulations and cost accounting standards.
