Superior Trim is looking for an engaged and energetic person who is currently enrolled in a bachelor's program focused on manufacturing engineering and is currently in their junior or senior year.
This internship provides hands-on experience in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, continuous improvement, quality systems, automation, and process engineering. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and operations personnel to gain practical industry experience while contributing to real-world projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist engineers with manufacturing process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
Collect, analyze, and report production and quality data.
Support troubleshooting activities related to molding processes, tooling, equipment, and quality concerns.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
Assist with process validations, machine trials, and new product launches.
Help develop and update work instructions, process documentation, and engineering standards.
Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
Create and modify basic CAD drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation.
Assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and productivity improvement projects.
Participate in safety, environmental, and quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams on assigned projects.
