Engineering Manager

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking an Engineering Manager for a nuclear instrumentation manufacturer which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in leading engineering teams looking to further their career in nuclear, aerospace, or defense.

•      Lead and develop ~12 mechanical, electrical, ceramic, and nuclear engineers; set priorities and hold the team to deadlines

•      Establish meeting cadences and tools to drive production, process, training, and compliance

•      Act as customer-facing engineering lead for source inspections and customer meetings

•      Own engineering budget, forecasting, and CAPEX; partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales

Essential Qualifications

•      8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years managing an engineering team of 5+ (hiring, performance management)

•      Engineering background in a regulated or extreme-environment industry to interpret technical reports; a people manager, not a hands-on IC

•      B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Ceramic, or Nuclear preferred); U.S. citizenship required (no dual citizens)

Bonus Qualifications

•      Nuclear Navy, nuclear power, aerospace, defense, or medical device background

•      Knowledge of IEEE 323/344, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, or NQA-1

•      PMP, Lean Six Sigma, M.S., or MBA
