Baxter Aerospace is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team, own day-to-day execution, and help turn company priorities into delivered results.
Reporting to the CEO, you'll take ownership of engineering planning, team coordination, and follow-through-giving the CEO more capacity to focus on company direction, customers, partnerships, and growth. We're looking for someone who brings sound technical judgment, creates clarity, and keeps work moving without needing constant direction.
What you'll do
Lead the engineering team. Set clear expectations, coach engineers, provide feedback, and build accountability for quality and results.
Own engineering execution. Translate business priorities into practical plans with clear owners, milestones, and deliverables.
Manage priorities and capacity. Balance project demands, assign work thoughtfully, and make tradeoffs visible before commitments are at risk.
Remove roadblocks. Resolve day-to-day issues, coordinate across functions, and bring the right people together to make decisions.
Drive technical decisions. Guide design reviews and problem-solving while ensuring appropriate attention to safety, reliability, documentation, and applicable requirements.
Build effective processes. Establish a useful rhythm for planning, reviews, and progress updates that supports the team as it grows.
Keep the CEO informed. Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly. Resolve issues within your authority and escalate with context and a recommendation.
Develop the organization. Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and the growth of future technical leaders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
7+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years leading engineers or managing an engineering team.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, assign resources, and hold teams accountable for deadlines and quality.
Strong technical judgment and the ability to guide design reviews, troubleshoot problems, and make informed decisions.
