We are seeking a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead a specialized analysis team while remaining deeply involved in complex engineering work. This role is designed for an experienced analyst who can guide others, establish sound technical practices, and personally take ownership of challenging simulation and validation efforts.
The right candidate will bring strong finite element analysis experience, a background in dynamic analysis, and the ability to carry technical work from early evaluation through testing and final qualification.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for structural, dynamic, and related simulation work.
- Personally perform and oversee advanced finite element analyses on complex equipment and systems.
- Establish technical direction, modeling practices, review standards, and consistent analysis methods across the team.
- Plan analysis activities, assign resources, and ensure technical work is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Determine appropriate approaches for analysis, testing, validation, and qualification based on program requirements.
- Compare simulation results against physical test data and resolve meaningful differences between predicted and measured performance.
- Partner with design and engineering teams to identify risks early and influence technical decisions before designs are finalized.
- Review, approve, document, and present technical conclusions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Improve engineering efficiency through better workflows, reusable methods, and automation where appropriate.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Naval/Ocean Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience performing structural and/or dynamic finite element analysis on complex hardware or systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with commercial FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran/Femap, LS-DYNA, or a comparable platform.
- Demonstrated experience with dynamic analysis methods such as modal, vibration, shock, harmonic, or transient analysis.
- Proven ability to independently own technical analysis from initial evaluation through testing, validation, and final qualification.
- Experience comparing analytical models with physical test results and resolving discrepancies between simulation and measured performance.
- Strong technical ownership and communication skills, including the ability to review, approve, explain, and defend engineering conclusions.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a required government security clearance.
