Field Support Engineer - BoltSense Technology

Position Summary
Copper State Bolt & Nut is seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Field Applications Engineer to support our BoltSense technology and industrial bolting solutions. This position combines technical troubleshooting, field service, customer training, and technical sales support to help customers achieve safe, accurate, and reliable bolting results.
The ideal candidate has practical experience working with mechanical systems, industrial equipment, field service, or technical applications and enjoys working directly with customers to solve problems. This role requires regular travel to customer sites, including international locations, as well as the ability to provide occasional after-hours technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Field Applications and Technical Support: Assist customers with the installation, calibration, operation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of BoltSense technology and related bolting solutions.
Customer and OEM Support: Work directly with customers, original equipment manufacturers, and internal teams to identify technical challenges and recommend effective solutions.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Investigate equipment and application issues, identify root causes, and provide practical recommendations to improve performance and reliability.
Training and Education: Train customers, technicians, and internal personnel on equipment operation, proper application, and best practices.
Technical Sales Support: Partner with sales teams to demonstrate product capabilities, support customer applications, answer technical questions, and help identify opportunities for growth.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve installation procedures, application methods, equipment performance, and customer outcomes.
Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, service reports, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
Travel and Customer Engagement: Visit customer facilities and job sites to provide hands-on support, participate in demonstrations, and assist with implementation. Travel may include domestic and international destinations.
Industry Engagement: Represent the company at trade shows, customer demonstrations, and other industry events as needed.
Additional Support: Provide occasional after-hours technical assistance when customer or operational needs require it.
Confidentiality: Protect company, customer, product, and proprietary technical information.
Qualifications
Experience in mechanical applications, industrial equipment, field service, technical support, technical sales, or a related technical field.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to understand mechanical systems, equipment applications, and technical processes.
Comfortable working directly with customers and explaining technical information in a practical, understandable way.
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with sales, engineering, and operations teams.
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 35-50% of the time, including international travel.
Flexibility to provide occasional after-hours technical support.
Ability to work safely in industrial environments and at customer job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience with bolting applications, industrial fastening, heavy equipment, mining, manufacturing, or related industries.
Experience with field service, equipment installation, calibration, or technical product demonstrations.
Background in technical sales or customer-facing industrial applications.
Spanish language proficiency.
