Job Title: Engineering/Technical - GIS Mapper

Schedule:
The first 6 to 12 weeks all contractors are expected to be onsite every day to be trained. Also, contractors do need to be able to commute once a week to a secondary location.
Hybrid (3 days onsite/ 2 offsite – based on business need)
Introduction
We are seeking a skilled GIS Mapper to join our team for a 2-year project. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing GIS data related to utility systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data management and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the company’s business applications.
Familiarity with material, equipment, and apparatus used in utility work.
Understanding of the Utilities’ Transmission and Distribution systems.
Knowledge of operating and maintenance handbooks and manuals, including safety rules and practices.
Must be able to work at various client locations based on business needs/workload.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey.
Proficiency in MS Office and other Windows applications.
Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Experience with GIS software and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Maintain the GIS connected model with information from various sources.
Perform analysis or queries to assemble data and prepare reports, tabulations, charts, and maps.
Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests.
Maintain service point data and the relationship to feeding source transformer.
Track lifespan of utility asset data, including history, inspection, and attachments.
Resolve conflicting data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues through office or field investigation.
Perform GIS work pertaining to major projects such as facility relocations, load rearrangement, and new business.
Operate automated office equipment and file records and data pertaining to the work.
Perform manual or computer-aided drafting.
Operate a car or light truck and assist other employees in plant work, in the field, or in the office.
Perform other similar skilled work.
