The Engineering Technician II provides technical assistance to professional Cartographers in connection with the construction or revision of maps and charts. Work involves the solution of technical problems that require primarily the application of practical knowledge of the methods and techniques by which maps and charts are constructed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collecting, evaluating, and selecting source materials.
• Compiling information from source materials and developing a plan for using the information in accordance with product specifications.
• Obtaining reliable measurements of the earth''''s surface features (such as elevations and distances) from photographs by using photogrammetric techniques and equipment.
• Using drafting tools and automated equipment to make maps and charts.
• Assembling aerial photographs into mosaics.
• Reviewing and editing maps and chart manuscripts.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout.
• Experience with hardware testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Six (6) or more years of experience working with DMEA-accredited fabrication houses.
• Four (4) years of documented, specialized engineering experience in thermal management, signal integrity, and undersea sensor systems.
